About Me

Hey! My name’s Sam Kittrell and this is a collection of stories and thoughts that revolve around each of us being loved recklessly by the Creator of the Universe.

I’ve called Virginia Beach, Virginia home for the majority of my life. It’s where I graduated high school, it’s where I grew up, and it’s where I started to pursue Jesus for real. But now, after running around the world for awhile on my gap year, I’ve found a new home at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where both of my parents went to college. I love photography and people, and C.S. Lewis books are some of my favorite reads. I’m also a big fan of early mornings, thrift stores, staying up way too late, and cookie dough ice cream.

The Lord has radically impacted my life in a lot of ways, and offered my family and I hope in a few dark places. On December 21st, 2017, my Dad went Home to be with his Creator after battling stage four cancer for 14 months. The eighteen years of influence my Dad had on me: in faith, in love, and in life, will never wear off. Christ has been a constant strong pillar that we’ve leaned on through this journey, and we’re confident he offers us light after darkness. I hope this blog offers you some encouragement in your faith, and challenges you in the same ways I feel the Lord challenging me.
